Charity breeds poverty...

  • Impact Investment leads to Wealth & Welfare.

Recall those lines of Anne Isabella Thackeray Ritchie in 1885, widely quoted by policymakers and development professionals all over the world: "If you give a man a fish, he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish, you do him a good turn." Over the years, the policymakers also added, "He will be richer all his life" or "That will feed him for a lifetime.".

We, at Beggars Corporation, are simply implementing that principle in letter and spirit. Instead of donating and making the poor dependent on our mercy, we are trying to break both the poverty trap and the begging trap by turning beggars into entrepreneurs. Besides earning with dignity, they send their children from the streets to school, take care of their family, reduce the huge burden of charity, and contribute to the state exchequer through GST. Not only that, the BTEs also become owners of their wealth and hold a 24% share in their ventures, equal to their mentors or Social Investors.

Don't Donate, Invest. Turn them from Daanjeevi to Karmajeevi. Earn Profit with Purpose.

Join the re-evolution

Though working for the poorest and the helpless, Beggars Corporation is probably the only organization in the world that is NOT AN NGO. Incorporated on August 12, 2022, as a For-Profit company, we engage in PROFIT WITH PURPOSE and COMMERCE WITH CONSCIENCE..

To turn it into a socio-economic re-evolution, we refuse to take funding from governments and venture capital firms. Instead, we connect well-off citizens to invest in the ventures of the beggars under the ONE BEGGAR, ONE MENTOR #OBOM scheme.

On June 30, 2023, we launched Citizens for Begging Free India #CBFI to involve our Social Investors and Member Customers directly in this mission. Dedicated to the nation, #Rashtrarpan, jointly by economist Dr. Sreevas Sahasranam from the United Kingdom and Padmashree Dr. Rajnikant, Varanasi, CBFI, is led by Dr. Parth Chopra from Germany and Mr. Premnath R, a banker from Chennai.

Now we are working on the #BeggingFreeBanaras project and target making this 3500-year-old city begging free in 3 years (April 2024–March 2027).

Beggars Corporation is only a symbol of Collective Conscience of society. Don't just witness or appreciate; "Be the Change You Wish to See."
